Myrrh Essential Oil

A relative of Frankincense with similar properties and benefits, Myrrh was one of the gifts brought to the Christ child at his birth. Native to the Arabian Peninsula, the Myrrh tree produces an aromatic sap that hardens to a red-brown resin. Myrrh essential oil is steam distilled from this resin, yielding an oil with an earthy, sweet aroma that brings a deeper sense of spirituality to practices such as yoga and meditation. Applied topically, it moisturizing and cleanses the skin, making it a popular addition to high-end skin care and beauty products. Myrrh essential oil is a key ingredient in many Young Living skin care products and essential oil blends.

DIY Cuticle Cream

Have you tried making your own cuticle cream with essential oils? Whether you regularly visit a nail salon or prefer to give yourself a manicure, you can keep your cuticles looking healthy with a DIY cuticle oil. Things like cold, dry weather and nail polish remover can wreak havoc with your nail beds. Rescue them with this DIY revitalizing cuticle oil! We’ve taken Frankincense and Myrrh essential oils—which are known to promote the appearance of healthy-looking skin—and combined them with our V-6™ Vegetable Oil Complex for an easy DIY solution to suffering cuticles.

Ingredients:
• 4 drops Frankincense essential oil
• 2 drops Myrrh essential oil
• 1½ teaspoons V-6 Vegetable Oil Complex
• 1 small glass jar with lid
• 10 cotton pads

Directions:
1. Place Frankincense and Myrrh essential oils into glass jar.
2. Add 1½ teaspoons of V-6 into the glass jar and stir until oils are combined.

To use: Dip cotton ball in jar and apply to cuticles once daily.

 

DIY Makeup Setting Spray

Avoid makeup meltdown with this DIY makeup setting spray. Choose your favorite essential oil for this homemade makeup setting spray based on your skin type—Tea Tree essential oil for oily skin or Frankincense essential oil for normal skin. We used Myrrh essential oil in this video. A little bit of vegetable glycerin and some water will keep your makeup on point throughout your day. Make your own setting spray with Tea Tree oil and others.
